Quiet memorable weekend

Quiet memorable weekend

★★★★★ A very restful weekend in Edinburgh New Town only a few minutes from the exclusive shops and restaurants. Extremely quiet location , little traffic and no television or radio to disturb the peace.
A historic house, privately owned by the Macfie family where the writer and poet Robert Louis Stevenson was brought up and the place remains much as it was.
Fabulous company of the Macfie family, lovely children at the breakfast table where a magnificent array of smoked fish, hams , cheese and bread are the order of the day with the most delicious homemade jams.
The 4 poster bed was particularly comfortable and we had a very restful night and all the better with a complimentary small decanter of whisky.
We will most certainly return. This is a very friendly, welcoming home and we were so lucky to be part of that for such a small time
