You can stay in the Stevenson House on a bed and breakfast basis all year round. This allows you to soak up even more of the atmosphere and enjoy the a Georgian family home.
There are two rooms to let: the master bedroom on the first floor with en-suite bathroom; and a twin room on the second floor overlooking the Firth of Forth, with en-suite shower.
The master bedroom
The master bedroom used to be the bedroom of Robert Louis’ parents and features a beautiful four poster bed, William Morris pattern wallpaper with the en-suite bathroom being the original Victorian bath installed by the Stevensons.
The twin bedroom
The twin bedroom is on the second floor, at the rear of the building, with a superb view across to Fife. It has its own en-suite shower.
All rooms are well equipped and offer our guests the advantage of staying right in the city centre close to most of the city’s attractions, museums and theatres.
- Edinburgh’s main railway station, Waverley, is 10 minutes walk away and the journey to the airport takes about half an hour by bus, taxi or car.
- The prices are £180 per night for the double and £145 per night for the twin, including a delicious breakfast with home-baked bread and jams made by Mrs Macfie herself.
- The house is equipped with WiFi internet, which is free to use for all our guests.
- Stays of five nights and over will receive a free dinner at the Stevenson House with wine included.
